PALS FACEBOOK GROUPS AND DESCRIPTIONS
Groups are available to my downline members (levels 1-3)
Important note: if your Facebook name doesn’t match the name you used to signed up with under Stampin’ Up!, please e-mail [email protected] with your alternative Facebook name.
Our Pals private Facebook chat groups are the perfect spots to ask for stamping advice, share ideas and samples, get inspired, comment, cheer or quietly learn from the discussion. I’m on the chats daily, too!
The Pals Facebook Chat Groups and topics are listed below. Simply click on the links of the groups and wait (up to 48 hours) to be approved for private access. For new demonstrators, we may need to wait until commissions finalize for the previous month to determine active status.
Please keep the discussion positive and fun. Personal religious and political beliefs are not allowed in our chat groups and may be deleted.
All of our groups are closed – here is the information on who can join this type of group and what people can see about closed groups.
Pals Stampin’ Chat: A very special place for both hobby and business Pals to chat about products, ask stamping questions, share advice and successes – even virtual parties and prizes. We also discuss and rally for events and live get togethers! ALL content is confidential. Before posting, please be sure to read the Stampin’ Up! updates or contact Demonstrator Support for general product, promotion or compliance questions.
Pals Gallery: Need inspiration or a place to share your projects? The Pals Gallery is our very own “show and tell” of paper crafting (cards, scrapbook pages, 3-D, and more). Watch for the Gallery Bandit Baker’s Dozen Challenge with monthly giveaways to participants.
Pals Bulletin Board: Essentially our “want ad” section. Advertise a new blog challenge, product share, buy/sell/trade/find SU products, promote a charitable event.
Pals Polls & Prize Patrol: You won’t want to miss this Pals favorite! Join us for a virtual party to celebrate each new catalog launch. Fun polls & tons of prizes!
Simply Social: This chat is a positive, fun, social place. Share a personal experience and/or photo (for example, kids & pets, weather check, funny story). No religious or political commentary in this chat, please. You may use the Pals Prayer Group to request or offer a prayer.
Pals Prayer & Support Group: Request or offer a simple prayer of support for a fellow Pal. Please respect the diversity and range of beliefs within our group and keep the chat as positive and harmonious as possible.
Destination Orlando: It’s our spot to learn about, discuss and rally to attend the Stampin’ Up! 30th Anniversary On-Stage Event Nov. 8-10, 2018.
IMPORTANT FACEBOOK CHAT REMINDERS
I love our private chat groups for learning, staying connected and friendships. However, I wanted to provide some helpful reminders.
>> Please contact Demonstrator Support (1-800-STAMPUP) for basic or compliance questions. Feel free to share what you learned with the group if you feel we would all benefit.
>> As tempting as it is, please do not answer compliance-related questions for fellow Pals. Those should always be resolved through Demonstrator Support.
>> There are 100’s of comments each day. Please don’t feel obligated to “like” or comment on every discussion.
>> Stay in the loop without going crazy. You can turn off email notifications by clicking notifications in the top right on the Chat pages and setting it to “off.”
>> I log in several times a day to read the Pals Chats but may miss a comment or discussion that has been buried. If you asked something that required my immediate attention or have a concern, please email me ([email protected]).
>> Respect your fellow Pals by refraining from political or religious conversations. Offering a prayer for personal support is fine (in the Pals Prayer & Support Group).
>> Keep it positive. Constructively written concerns are fine for discussion. However, remember what you say has an affect on so many and negative chatter spoils the fun and may be deleted.
We are always looking to improve. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or ideas for the chats!
HELPFUL HOW TO’S
How do I join the groups?
IMPORTANT: As with all our virtual resources, please keep the groups a positive environment.
>> You will need a Facebook account. Click here for instructions.
>> Click the appropriate group link for the group you want to join.
>> Click Join Group in the top-right corner. You can also be added by a friend who’s already a member – but will need to be accepted into the group by the admin of the group.
>> I will accept you into the group as the administrator of the group.
>> Questions? Email my assistant, Kris Kilcoyne ([email protected])
Joining a group:
>> Go to the group you want to be part of and then click Join Group in the top-right corner. You can also join any public group that you see on the About page of someone’s profile by clicking Join.
>> You may have to wait for a group admin to approve your request. In some groups, you can also be added by a friend who’s already a member.
Do you want to add your downline members to our groups?
>> Go to the group
>> Click the + Add People to Group field in the right column
>> Type your friends’ names and click on them to add them to the group
For all types of groups—Public, Closed (like our Pals private Facebook groups) and Secret—group members can add their friends. Other people can request to join a public or closed group and be confirmed by a group admin. You can invite people you’re not friends with to join the group by clicking Invite by Email in the top right of your group.
Keep in mind when you join a group:
>> People may see when you join an public or closed group or that you’re a member of that group, like in News Feed or search.
>> When someone adds you to an public or closed group, others may see that you’ve been invited (ex: in News Feed or search). Once you visit a group you’re invited to, you’ll become a member and other people may see you joined.
>> Certain groups on Facebook are Secret and may not appear in search results. You can see them once a group member adds you.
>> Clickat the top right corner of your group to expand the search field.
>> Enter names or keywords that appear either in the post or in comments on that post. The results of your search will show the part of the post where the keywords appear.
>> Click a result to see the original post.
When you get notifications for a post in a group, you can stay up-to-date whenever someone comments on the post.
How do I edit my notification settings for a group?
To change your notification settings for a group, go to the group and click Notifications in the top right on your group’s cover photo. You can select:
>> All Posts: You’ll get notifications for all new posts in the group.
>> Highlights: You’ll get notifications for top posts and friends’ posts. A top post may be the most liked post or the post that got the most comments from the past few days.
>> Friends’ Posts: You’ll get notifications whenever your friends post.
>> Off: You won’t get notifications about new posts in the group.
Note: If your group reaches 250 members or more, its notification settings will be set to Highlights by default. Individual members of the group can still change their own notification settings.
Where are my red alert notifications?
Notifications appear at the top-right corner of any page on Facebook. When you have a new notification, a red bubble will appear with the number of new notifications you’ve received. There are separate notifications for friend requests and messages, and the rest of your notifications will appear over the globe icon. Click these icons at any time to view or adjust new notifications.
When someone sends you a friend request, you’ll see the number 1 above the friend request icon. Click the icon to respond to the request or find people you might know.
You can also click the messages icon to see your inbox or send a new message.
Can I message members of a group if they are not my friends?
All members of a group can chat together in group messages, even if they’re not all friends with each other. However, only friends can message each other individually and start a one-on-one conversation.
How do I start a chat with members of a group I’m in?
Starting a chat with all members of a group you’re in is currently only available in smaller groups. To send a message to the members of a group you’re in:
>> Click at the top right of your group and then click Send Message
>> Use the checkboxes to select who you want to message, or click Select All to message the entire group
>> Click Start Chat
To share photos or videos with a group:
>> Click Add Photo/Video at the top of the group
>> Pick a sharing option:
>> Upload a Photo/Video lets you pick a single file to share
>> Create Photo Album lets you organize multiple photos in an album to share with the group
>> When you’re ready to share, click Post
Any member of the group can add photos to a group album. Group photos are only visible to other members, and only group members can be tagged in group photos.
