THIS WEEK’S TIP: DSA
As you are probably aware, Stampin’ Up! is part of the Direct Selling Association/Direct Sellers Association of Canada (DSA). The DSA protects the direct-selling industry and its sellers in many ways, and as a member of the DSA that means we have their support for our business.
In order to remain in good standing, Stampin’ Up! and our demonstrators need to maintain the DSA’s code of ethics. In an effort to help us all remain compliant, we periodically include policy reminders in weekly updates. You can also read through the Demonstrator Policies document at any time.
Here are a couple big topics in the industry right now:
>> False earning claims- Sometimes in an attempt to encourage someone to join their team, sellers may promise that a new recruit will make a certain amount of money. Everyone’s business is different; you cannot promise any kind of earning statement in order to secure a new recruit. (See Recruiting policy.)
>> Stockpiling products- There are substantial financial risks associated with stockpiling inventory. For this reason—and more—we only allow a few specific products for cash and carry. (See Cash-and-Carry policy.)
